My name is Jessica Fanzo. I am an east coast native, a foodie, a nutritionist by day and I take photos on the side. I like dogs more than cats, red wine over beer, and have a crooked mouth. I am married to a guy who likes fish that sleep and runs a literary press – he goes by Bayor. I have one tattoo on my arm and I like The Smiths, and I don’t mean the supermarket. My stomach is the weakest part of my body, which doesn’t fair well when I travel to remote areas of Africa for work. I think I may be lactose intolerant but have never been tested. I dream of living in Italy most days but we are always searching for heaven in all the wrong places as Bob said. I also long for a good black bean burrito. If I had to eat two cuisines for the rest of my life, Japanese and Mexican, mos def. I secretly want to be a surfer, but I have no balance. I have lived basically in each corner of the United States – Tucson Arizona, New York and Portsmouth New Hampshire, Savannah Georgia, and Seattle Washington. I guess you could say I am a blue state sympathizer. I have traveled to 28 countries, 11 being in sub-Saharan Africa.
You can also find me on facebook and twitter. You can also see more of my photo blogging or the work that I do on the Millennium Villages Project.
